Contract lifecycle management built for the Baltics and the EU
DokDesk takes an agreement from reusable template through negotiation and eIDAS e-signing to a court-ready evidence base - with your data kept in the EU.

One agreement, one timeline
Contract lifecycle management (CLM) treats a contract as one continuous process - from the first draft through negotiation, signing and proof - instead of a scatter of email threads, attachments and PDFs. DokDesk is CLM software for teams in the Baltics and across the EU, where signatures must hold up under European law and data must stay on European ground.
Which version is live
One source of truth, so you never have to guess which draft is the real one.
Who agreed to it
Every change and approval captured on the contract's own timeline.
Proof you can show
A court-ready evidence base on every signature, ready the moment anyone asks.
The stages of the contract lifecycle
Every contract moves through the same stages in DokDesk - each one a part of the platform you can explore.
What contract lifecycle management actually means
The difference between storing documents and managing contracts is control over change and proof. A CLM platform tells you which version is live, what changed, who signed and when - the chain of custody that turns a document into a defensible record.
- Tells you a file exists - nothing more
- No record of what changed between drafts
- The “final” version lives in someone's inbox
- Proof is scattered across email, if it exists at all
- Shows which version is live, always
- Every change captured on one timeline
- One source of truth for the whole team
- Court-ready proof on every signature
Signatures that hold up across the EU
Electronic signatures in the EU are governed by eIDAS (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014), which defines three levels with different evidential weight. DokDesk supports SES and AES today and is architecture-ready for QES - it does not itself issue qualified signatures.
An AES meets four requirements (eIDAS Art. 26)
- 1Uniquely linked to the signatory
- 2Capable of identifying the signatory
- 3Created with data under the signatory's sole control
- 4Linked to the data so any later change is detectable
Pick the right signature level for each document
DokDesk supports the three eIDAS levels - Simple, Advanced and Qualified. Only a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) carries the legal effect of a handwritten signature across the EU (eIDAS Art. 25).
Simple Electronic Signature
Click, consent and a typed signature. Cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility just because it is electronic (eIDAS Art. 25(1)) - but it is not handwritten-equivalent.
Use it for: Internal sign-offs, simple consents and low-risk approvals.
Advanced Electronic Signature
Uniquely identifies the signer and links the signature to the document, protecting its integrity. Stronger probative value than SES; not automatically equal to a handwritten signature.
Use it for: Commercial contracts where the signer's identity matters.
Qualified Electronic Signature
The only e-signature with the legal effect of a handwritten signature across all EU member states (eIDAS Art. 25). The architecture is laid out so Smart-ID, Mobile-ID, eID or qualified providers can be plugged in.
Use it for: High-value or regulated agreements that must equal a wet signature.
eIDAS Art. 25 · handwritten-equivalent levelSmart-ID and Mobile-ID - the rails roughly 3 million people across the Baltics already use - plug in for QES. Smart-ID is a certified Qualified Signature Creation Device, so its signatures can qualify as QES and are accepted EU-wide.
Why teams run the lifecycle on DokDesk
- One connected lifecycle: template, contract, negotiation, signing and evidence on a single timeline, so there is never a question of which version is the real one.
- Negotiation on one live version instead of trading attachments, with every change captured as part of the record.
- eIDAS e-signing at SES and AES levels, executed with national eIDs like Smart-ID and Mobile-ID that people in the Baltics already use daily.
- Architecture-ready for QES so qualified trust providers and devices can plug in, without overpromising that DokDesk issues qualified signatures itself.
- A court-ready evidence base and EU data residency under GDPR, so the proof of who agreed to what stays defensible and stays in Europe.
Frequently asked questions
- Is DokDesk a CLM?
- Yes. DokDesk is a contract lifecycle management platform. It covers the full lifecycle of an agreement, from reusable templates through negotiation on one live version, eIDAS-compliant e-signing, and a structured, court-ready evidence base. It is built specifically for the Baltics and the wider EU, with data kept in the EU under GDPR. It is focused on the contract itself, so it is not an invoicing, payments or accounting tool.
- What is contract lifecycle management software, in plain terms?
- It is software that handles a contract as one continuous process rather than as scattered files and email threads. Instead of separate tools for drafting, negotiating, signing and storing, a CLM platform keeps the document, its full history and its proof of execution in one place, so you can always tell which version is current, who agreed to it, and prove it later.
- What is the difference between SES, AES and QES?
- These are the three electronic signature levels under eIDAS, Regulation (EU) No 910/2014. SES is the simple baseline. AES is an advanced signature meeting the four requirements in Article 26. QES is qualified and, under Article 25, has the legal effect of a handwritten signature. DokDesk supports SES and AES, and is architecture-ready for QES. This is general information, not legal advice.
- Does DokDesk issue qualified electronic signatures (QES)?
- No. DokDesk is not a qualified trust service provider and does not issue QES itself. The platform is architecture-ready for QES, meaning it is designed so that qualified trust service providers and qualified signature creation devices can be connected.
- Where is my contract data stored, and is it GDPR-compliant?
- DokDesk keeps your contract data in the EU and operates under GDPR. For organisations in the Baltics and the EU that cannot let agreements, personal data and signature evidence move outside Europe, that EU data residency is a core reason to run the contract lifecycle on DokDesk.
